How to take care of your brows after your eyebrow lamination
According to Sydney brow specialist, Montana, aftercare following your eyebrow lamination procedure is paramount to keep your brows looking fantastic for longer.
The first 24 hours after your brow lamination procedure are critical and you will need to ensure the eyebrow hairs remain dry for this period to ensure the treatment works. After that, you may wash your face in an upward direction and restyle the brows as you wish.
The two hair stages of brow lamination
First, let’s discuss the two hair stages of brow lamination…
STAGE 1 – 1-3 weeks
This is when the brows are fresh & sleek. We recommend either every-few-days or weekly hair treatment to keep the brows hydrated (see below)
STAGE 2 – 4-6 weeks
During Stage 2 (between weeks 4-6) the laminated hairs will start to mix with the natural hairs creating a fluffy, textured look. The lamination effect fades during this time and sometimes brow gel is required. Continue to use hair treatment as desired.
Unfortunately, there is no way to completely avoid stage 2 if you live an active lifestyle and enjoy the benefits of amazing skincare and make-up.
Montana recommends three aftercare products:
- 100% Prickly Pear Seed Oil (30mls – $97)
- Regenerating Argan Cream Oil
- Morrocanoil Smoothing Lotion
Eyebrow lamination aftercare products
Rare by Nature Prickly Pear Seed Oil
Wild harvested from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, Prickly Pear Seed Oil is one of the rarest oils on earth. It is easily absorbed and leaves no residue.
100% pure and certified organic, the oil is rich in tocopherols and omega-6 fatty acids that nourish and protect the skin, while amino acids and antioxidants stimulate natural collagen and improve skin elasticity. The harvest is carried out by a local Berber women’s cooperative, and the oil is cold pressed from the seeds.
Directions: Use daily or every couple of days.
Purchase directly through Parlour Dala salon. Price $97 (30ml).
2-in-1 Face & Brow Oil
2-in-1 Face & Brow Oil refines pores, reduces redness and inflammation, brightens under the eyes, firms skin tone, boosts natural collagen, restores skin elasticity AND protects brow hairs and restores hydration after your brow lamination procedure.
Suitability: All skin and hair types. No additives, preservatives or blending agents.
Thuya Regenerating Cream With Argan Oil
That final step in your laminated eyebrow care procedure is what Montana called “Glam and Glow”.
Thuya Regenerating Cream With Argan Oil is a hydrating cream oil that increases the eyebrow hair’s resistance and restores moisture back to the brows and skin. The main ingredient is Vitamin E which improves the hair structure and revitalises it.
Directions: Can be used daily if required. Best suited for very thick brow hairs that need more hold.
Purchase directly through Parlour Dala solon. Price $50 (15ml).
Moroccan oil Smoothing Lotion 300ml
For effortless styling that leaves hair soft and smooth.
Infused with expertly blended technologies from best-selling Moroccanoil products, including nourishing argan oil, argan butter, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Tames frizz and helps resists humidity for luxuriously smooth hair.
Typically this product is for the head of hair BUT has worked lovely with Brow Lamination. We called this a “Hair Mask” but for the brows.
Directions: Use every few days or once a week. Suitable for all hair types, particularly curly brow hairs.
Paraben-free, Sulphate-free.
At home brow lamination care
If you are unable to purchase the suggested aftercare product, we strongly suggest that from the beginning you brush the brows in an upward direction morning and night to ensure they are well groomed and brush through a pea size amount of Organic Castor Oil into the brows (if needed).
